How to replace a fuel filter on a ride-on lawn mower

This is an article about how to replace a fuel filter on a ride-on lawn mower.

In order for your Husqvarna ride-on lawn mower to function optimally, you need to make sure that the fuel filter is working properly. If the fuel filter is damaged, there can be issues with starting your ride-on lawn mower or you can experience loss of power while using the product.

Replace a fuel filter on a ride-on lawn mower

For this you will need:

  • Protective gloves
  • Flat pliers
  • Hose pliers
  • A new fuel filter; check your product's operator's manual for the correct type of fuel filter

Method:

  1. Open the engine cover to access the fuel filter.
  2. Compress the fuel hose to prevent leakage.
  3. Move the hose clips away from the fuel filter with a pair of flat pliers.
  4. Pull off the fuel filter from the hose ends. A small quantity of fuel may leak.
  5. Push the new fuel filter into the ends of the hoses. Apply liquid detergent to the ends of the fuel filter to make the connection easier.
  6.  Make sure that the filter is installed in the correct direction — the arrow should be pointing towards the engine.
  7. Push the hose clips against the fuel filter.
