What should I think about?

In short, here are some of the things you should consider when selecting Automower® model.

Size

How big is your lawn? We have Automower® models suitable for smaller lawns up to 600 m² (0.15 acres) and large lawns up to 5000 m² (1.3 acres) and anything in between.* Note that the operation capacity is approximate and calculated for a flat and open lawn, so if your yard is hilly and complex, consider choosing a mower suitable for a bigger lawn than yours. Worth mentioning is also that the higher capacity your mower has, the faster it will cover your whole lawn. 

Layout and complexity

Are there trees, bushes and other obstacles in your lawn or is it relatively open? Some yards are full of complexity (narrow passages and hard to get to places). That is why our Automower® models are suited to different types of lawns, and why some are better at navigating complex areas than others. If you have a complex lawn, you need a mower with guide wires that guide your mower through narrow passages and all the way to those hard to get places. If your lawn is small, open and flat, you will likely manage without a guide wire (even if it is always a good idea to use a guide wire).

Slopes

Is your lawn flat or sloping? Does it have steep slopes? Our Automower® models have different attributes. Some are made to tackle steep slopes (up to 70%), while others are built to excel on flat sections. Steep slopes will also require terrain wheels to achieve extra traction.

Control

How would you like to control your robotic mower? Would you like to control it from anywhere in the world, maybe as a part of your smart home? Then make sure to pick an X-line mower. Our X-line mowers connect to the Automower® Connect app using the cellular network and are accessible from anywhere.

Is it enough to control it from within sight? Choose a mower that can connect to the Automower® Connect app using Bluetooth and the Automower® Connect@Home option. Then you can always access your mower as long as you are within Bluetooth range.

Or do you simply want to control the mower using the display on the mower itself? Then you may be just as happy with a non-connected mower, such as Automower® 105 (at least if your yard is small and less complex).
