Q&A

During which temperatures can I use my BLi battery?

When using your battery, you have to be aware of the ambient temperature as well as of the battery temperature.

Use the battery only when the ambient temperature is between -10°C (14°F) and 40°C (104°F). If the battery temperature is under -10°C (14°F) or above 70°C (158°F), the battery will not work during discharging. If the battery temperature is under 5°C (41°F) or above 50°C(122°F), the battery will not charge.

If you are working in very cold areas, try to keep the batteries in room temperature before using them. The batteries will work when the lowest battery temperature is -10°C (14°F) but you have to expect limitations in terms of runtime and performance.

How to warm up the battery:

  • keep it in room temperature
  • run the product on low power

If you are working in very warm areas, try to keep the batteries cool before using them to avoid shut-down due to overheating of the battery pack. Your product will shut down if the battery reaches 70°C (158°F) cell temperature.

How to keep the battery from overheating:

  • do not use it in the high ambient temperature (over 40°C/104°F)
  • do not use the battery-powered tools for the task they are not designed for (cutting high grass with a battery-powered walk-behind mower requires more power)
  • do not store the battery in a non-suitable, warm place like a car
  • do not leave the battery in the product (e.g. walk-behind mower) in the sun
