Q&A

Using a Husqvarna Automower® robotic lawn mower at multiple locations

You can use a single Automower® robotic lawn mower at multiple locations. The number of installations possible per mower depends on your specific Automower® model.

If your Automower® model supports using mowing profiles, it becomes even more convenient. Mowing profiles allow you to save product settings related to different charging stations and work areas.

Number of installations per mower

The number of installations possible varies based on the model of your robotic lawn mower:

  • Husqvarna Automower® 405X, 415X, 435X AWD, and all Husqvarna Automower® NERA models: You can have up to 10 installations, which can be managed through the Automower® Connect app.
  • Other Husqvarna Automower® models: Up to 3 installations are possible, which can be managed through the mower's display.

Please note that Automower® Aspire R4 does not support Mowing profiles.

Using one Automower® robotic lawn mower for geographically apart locations

Automower installation with two charging stations

If you wish to use the same Automower® robotic lawn mower, for example, at both your primary residence and your summer house, you'll need a charging station and a boundary wire or an EPOS™ virtual boundary installation at each site. Once these installations are in place, you can easily set up two Mowing profiles in the mower menu or in the Automower® Connect app. These profiles can be switched between when you move your mower from one location to another.

Requirements

  • An Automower® model supporting Mowing Profiles.
  • A charging station at each location.
  • For boundary wire installations: a wire installation at each loaction.
  • For EPOS™ virtual boundary installations: A reference station at each location.

Using Mowing Profiles in multiple installations

With Mowing Profiles, you can save groups of settings for different installations. Depending on your robotic lawn mower's model, Mowing Profiles can be accessed from the mower's display or the Automower® Connect app.

Accessing Mowing Profiles using the mower's display

  1. Go to Menu > Settings > Profiles in the Automower® display.
  2. Select Use profiles
  3. Select a profile (A, B or C).
  4. Rename the profile as desired.

Accessing Mowing Profiles in the Automower® Connect App

  1. Open the Automower® Connect app.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Manage Profiles.
  3. To create a new profile, click on the Plus symbol on the top right.
  4. Easily switch between profiles as desired.

Using one Automower® robotic lawn mower for adjacent, but disconnected lawns

In lawns that are in close proximity, such as a neighbor's lawn, or when managing adjacent but disconnected lawn areas, you can designate one of the lawns as a secondary area. In this case, only one installation with a single charging station and one boundary wire is necessary. Note that the maximum length of the boundary wire is 800 meters / 2624 feet. In this type of installation, there is no passage between the two areas. Therefore, you will need to manually move the mower between them and select Secondary area when starting the mower. Learn more about How to create a secondary area in an Automower® installation.

Requirements

  • An Automower® model that supports Secondary Areas.
  • A boundary wire installation covering the whole work area, including Main and Secondary work areas.

Please note that in EPOS™ virtual boundary installations, unconnected lawn areas are set up as separate work areas and managed in the Automower® Connect app.
