How to properly mix two stroke oil and gasoline for a chainsaw

Proper fuel mixing tips for a chainsaw:

  1. Always mix the gasoline and oil in a clean container intended for fuel.
  2. Always start by filling half the amount of the gasoline to be used, add the entire amount of oil, mix (agitate) the fuel mixture, add the remaining amount of gasoline.
  3. Do not mix more than one month's supply of fuel at a time.
  4. Mix (agitate) the fuel mixture thoroughly before filling the machine's fuel tank.
  5. Mix the correct ratio as specified by the manufacturer.

To find the fuel mix ratio, please refer to your operator's manual.

Fuel and oil mixture should always be 2% (50:1). We recommend you use Husqvarna oil mixtures.
