Husqvarna periodically releases new firmware for your Automower® robotic lawn mower. These updates not only address performance or security issues but also introduce new features.
By keeping your mower's firmware up-to-date, you ensure its optimal performance and gain access to any new functionality Husqvarna releases.
Firmware is a form of software stored inside a product, such as an Automower® robotic lawn mower. It provides the instructions that allow the product to perform basic tasks, functions, and communicate with other devices.
Updating the firmware yourself
Some Automower® models support Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) technology, which allows you to update the firmware yourself. When a new firmware update is available, Automower® Connect will notify you. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update. For detailed instructions on using FOTA, refer to our guide: What is FOTA and how do I use it?
If you need help with the firmware update, don't hesitate to contact your local dealer.
Visiting the dealer for firmware updates
If your Automower® robotic lawn mower doesn't support FOTA, you'll need to take your mower to your local dealer for a firmware update. Dealers always update your mower to the latest firmware version during pre-winter storage servicing.
You can continue using the mower without updating the firmware, but you won't have access to any new features or enhancements. However, if a firmware update includes a security patch and you have an Automower® model that supports FOTA, the update is mandatory and will be installed automatically.
Please contact your local Husqvarna dealer if you need personalized assistance with your robotic lawn mower.
