Q&A

Why does uploaded Husqvarna Fleet machine sensor data have the location status Unknown?

If you happen to find data with location status Unknown in your Husqvarna Fleet Services™ account, it is usually because the user started the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ mobile app or Husqvarna Fleet Services™ Gateway app, enabling the Husqvarna Fleet machine sensor to upload its data, but then closed the app before the location status was uploaded.

How is the data uploaded?

Uploading data and location status is done in two different ways.

Data upload from a machine sensor

When a product with a machine sensor gets close to Husqvarna Fleet Services™ mobile app or a Husqvarna Fleet Services™ Gateway app, the app connects to the machine sensor and enables it to upload data to the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ system (backend), which in its turn updates the data in your Husqvarna Fleet Services™ account.

Location status upload from a machine sensor

Location status is stored regularly by the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ mobile app or Husqvarna Fleet Services™ Gateway app and is updated once a minute to your account.

Note: The sensor location is based on the location of the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ device. If the device has no GPS coverage it cannot update location. This is common with the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app when indoors etc. The Husqvarna Fleet Services™ Gateway app, on the other hand, uses a fixed location that is set during the installation of the gateway. This will enable upload of location even if the gateway device does not have GPS coverage.
