How to check the blades and blade guard on a hedge trimmer

To ensure that your hedge trimmer works optimally, make sure that the blades and the blade guard are not damaged or broken.

CAUTION: Always wear protective gloves when handling the cutting equipment.

How to check the blades and the blade guard on a hedge trimmer

The outer part of the blades actsas a blade guard. The blade guard prevents lacerations.

  1. Stop the product and make sure that the blades have stopped.
  2. For petrol-powered tools: Remove the spark plug cap from the spark plug. For battery-powered tools: Remove the battery.
  3. Put on your protective gloves.
  4. Make sure that the blades and the blade guard are not damaged or bent. Always replace damaged or bent blades, or a damaged blade guard.
  5. Make sure that the screws securing the blades and blade guard are tight.
