This is an article on how to clean and replace an air filter on a Husqvarna lawn mower. If you are looking for information on how to clean and replace an air filter on a Husqvarna ride-on mower, click here.

In order for your Husqvarna lawn mower to function optimally, make sure that the air filter is clean and working properly. If the air filter is dirty or damaged, there can be issues with starting your lawn mower or you can experience loss of power while using it.

Perform maintenance on the air filter more frequently in dusty conditions.

CAUTION: Do not start the product without an air filter. Engine wear increases if the air is dirty.

Select the type of air filter on your product:

Paper air filter

A dirty air filter can cause the engine to be damaged or not operate correctly.

  1. Remove the air filter cover and remove the air filter.
  2. Clean the filter by hitting it against a flat surface. Do not use solvents that contain petroleum, kerosene or compressed air to clean the filter.
  3. When you assemble the air filter, make sure it fully seals against the filter holder.

NOTE: Air filters in operation for a long time cannot be cleaned fully. Replace the air filter at regular intervals. Damaged air filters must always be replaced.
