Why is the error LED flashing on my lawn mower?

If you notice the error LED flashing on your lawn mower, there can be several causes for this issue. 

Select the issue that best describes your situation:

The product does not operate correctly

Note that number of flashes can differ depending on your lawn mower. 

The blade is blocked

WARNING: Use protective gloves when handling the blade. The blade is very sharp and cuts can easily occur.

Turn the safety key to 0 to prevent accidental starts. Remove the battery and wait a minimum of 5 seconds. 

Remove potential obstacles and make sure that the blade can rotate freely.

If the problem continues, contact your local authorised dealer.

The motor speed drops too much and the motor stops

The cutting height is set too low causes poor cutting results if the blade or cutting deck drag in the soil. 

Set the cutting height to the correct position:

  1. Stop the engine.
  2. Move the cutting height lever to increase or decrease the cutting height.
    CAUTION: Do not set the cutting height too low. The blades can hit the ground if the surface of the lawn is not level.

The product/battery is too hot

Stop the product, take out the battery and wait until it has become cool.

The product stops

Note that number of flashes can differ depending on your walk-behind mower. 

The motor has overloaded

Increase the cutting height:

  1. Stop the engine.
  2. Move the cutting height lever backwards to increase the cutting height.
  3. Move the cutting height lever forwards to decrease the cutting height.
    CAUTION: Do not set the cutting height too low. The blades can hit the ground if the surface of the lawn is not level.

Battery error or no signal from the battery

Put the battery in the product correctly and check the battery connector. If the error LED on the battery flashes, refer to the battery status chart in your operator's manual.

Incorrect start procedure

If the motor brake handle has been engaged before the motor starts, release the motor brake handle and wait for approximately 5 seconds. Push the motor brake handle down again to start the product.
